The Quran is a holy book which is a complete code of guidance for mankind. 114 surahs, 6,236 ayats and countless pearls of wisdom make up the Holy Quran. The pages of our sacred book take each reader on a spiritual journey, hoping to guide the soul to its rightful place. The words so delicately written in the Quran all have meanings that span beyond the embroidered bindings and the calligraphic framing of the Quran. When Muslims read or learn the Quran with understanding it changes them from inside out. The Quran has the most inspiring and beautiful Ayats which talks about patience, hope, righteous way to live life, peace, and empowerment. Each and every ayat of the Quran is a pearl and that pearl is unique in every aspect. Thus, a reading of the Quran with understanding is what is required from Muslims.
- STRENGTH – The ayat says that Allah (swt) tests everyone, and He does not put hurdles in one’s way if the person cannot handle them. It teaches that He knows us better, and He is aware of our strengths. He will not put devotees through something that they cannot handle.
“Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear”
[Surah Baqarah | 2:286]
- PERSPECTIVE – Islam and the Holy Quran remind us that this world, with all it’s hardships, is temporary and deceptive. This ayat reminds us to re-frame our perspective about our daily lives so that we may find internal peace.
“The life of this world is only the enjoyment of Deception”
[Surah Al-Imran | 3:185 ]
- SPEAK WELL OF OTHERS – Many times we tend to forget that there is somebody with us 24/7 recording our actions as well as our intentions. This forgetfulness makes us deliver from our tongues utterances that are of hurtful, swearing and proud nature. This is something that Allah (swt) has truly despised. Spying, backbiting, lying, slandering and swearing are far off from the speech of a believer. Our speech should be wrapped up with kindness, humility and of forgiving nature. It is liked by others and as equally beneficial to our own selves.
“Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record].” [Surah Al Qaf | 50:18]
- EXERCISE SELF DISCIPLINE – We are born as individuals and will be standing in front of Allah (swt) as individuals. Islam gives serious importance to self-regulation and self-discipline. Figure out your shortcomings and weaknesses. Start working on that. Discover your strengths and potential. Use them to improve yourself. Try to perfect yourself in ways loved by Allah (swt).
“Verily, Allah will not change the condition of people as long as they do not change their state themselves” [Al-Ra’d | 13:11]
- THE SIMPLICITY OF DOING GOOD – This ayat explains itself just beautifully.
“Surely, good deeds erase bad deeds” [Surah Hud | 11:114]
- FORGIVENESS – Meaning: It says that the mercy of Allah (swt) is limitless. There are no boundaries around. It inspires people who are repenting for sins and facing troubles in life. One must not be fearful because Allah (swt) forgives everyone. The power of forgiveness is so notable, that it is one of the 99 names and characters of Allah (swt).
“My mercy embraces all things” [Surah AL-A’raf | 7:156]
- SEEKING KNOWLEDGE – Allah (swt) is the main source of knowledge (Ilm), through this Dua, you can also seek knowledge from Allah (swt) for better memorization or remembrance. There is no age limit to learning, a person can learn all his life and take knowledge of Deen (Islamic) and Duniya (world) both and should also share with others.
“O my Lord ! increase me in knowledge“ [Surah Ta-Ha | 20:114]
- BEING PATIENT – To be patient in calamities and hardships is the best obedience to Allah(swt). This ayat asks people to have faith in Allah (swt) and says that one who recites the verses of the Quran when facing great difficulties in life gets blessings from Allah(swt). He gives to everyone and also takes something from all. This verse gives hope, and it is among the important ayat in the Quran.
“So verily, with the hardship, there is a relief. Verily, with the hardship, there is relief” [Surah Al-Inshirah | 94:5-6]
Muslims believe that when a person recites ayats from the Quran, Allah(swt) offers them guidance. When praying, the person can listen to His voice. If a person is sad, they get encouragement and comfort from the Almighty. Ayats offer a solution to people who feel lost in their lives. The verses hold significant importance among the followers of Islam.
